PRODUCT DETAILS

Rosita Extra-Virgin Ratfish Liver Oil Softgels

The same oil as the 50ml and 10ml bottles, encapsulated — no dropper, no measuring, and no taste.

What is a ratfish?

The ratfish is a deep-water cartilaginous fish — the same broad group as sharks and rays — belonging to the chimaera family, an ancient lineage that diverged from sharks several hundred million years ago. It is also known as the rabbit fish, and chimaeras as a group are commonly called ghost sharks.

Its liver makes up more than 60% of its total body mass, which is why it yields oil at all.

Alkylglycerols

Ratfish liver oil has an unusual lipid composition, and is one of the richest known natural sources of alkylglycerols — also called ether lipids. Each 3 softgel serving contains 208mg of naturally occurring alkylglycerols, alongside 52mg of omega-3 marine triglycerides, including 11mg DHA and 10.6mg EPA.

How it is made

The oil is extracted without heat, chemicals or mechanical pressure, using the same extra virgin principles as Rosita's cod liver oil, and produced in small batches in Norway.

Storage

Store the softgels somewhere cool, dry and out of direct light. See the label for the recommended serving.

Third-party tested by the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. If contact with the oil causes an allergic reaction, stop use and consult your doctor.
