What is in a mushroom elixir?

Our blends combine chaga, reishi, cordyceps, maitake, shiitake and lion's mane. Each mushroom is extracted separately before blending, so the ratios stay consistent from batch to batch.

There is also an espresso version, which adds coffee to the same blend.

The mushrooms in our blends

Lion's Mane

Named for the long white spines that hang from the fruiting body. Also used as a culinary mushroom, with a texture often compared to crab.

Chaga

Grows on birch trees in cold climates. Not a soft-bodied mushroom but a hard blackened sclerotium that looks like burnt wood.

Reishi

Hard, glossy and kidney-shaped. Too woody to eat, which is why it is almost always taken as an extract. Known in China as lingzhi.

Maitake

Grows in overlapping fan-shaped clusters at the base of oak trees. Known in English as hen of the woods, and in Japanese as the dancing mushroom.

Shiitake

The most familiar of the group, and widely used in cooking across East Asia. Traditionally grown on hardwood logs.

Cordyceps

In the wild it grows on insect larvae at high altitude. Ours is cultivated on a nutrient medium, which makes it sustainable and vegan friendly.
