Australian Grown Reishi Mushroom
Our Organic Reishi Mushroom is an endemic Australian species cloned from a wild specimen which is cultivated organically in the Yarra Valley.
The Australian Reishi Mushrooms are grown and fruited using the Paul Stamets method on a substrate of brown rice. The fruit body forms on the brown rice substrate and makes up around 70-80% of the final product. The rest is made up of mycelium and a small amount of left over myceliated brown rice.
The Reishi mushrooms are treated with heat to kill any bacteria, etc. This improves the bioavailability and digestibility as it is enough to break down the cell walls and chitin. Then the fruitbody, mycelium and myceliated brown rice are freeze dried and powdered. The final product is a 100% wholefood containing both the mushroom fruit body and mycelium. A lot of the nutritional compounds are found in the mycelium as well as the fruit body so it is beneficial to have them as well. Paul Stamets who is one of the worlds leading mycologists recommends having the mycelium to get the full spectrum of benefits.

Suggested Use:
Rehydrate 1 teaspoon (~2g) in hot water, brew a tea or brew with coffee. Add some honey to the tea. Add a cup of milk and a level teaspoon of Lion's Mane to a pot and warm while stirring, can add hot chocolate powder or honey or just have it as is (this is really tasty just with milk and my favourite method so far). You can also add some Freeze Dried Chaga Extract if you want to make it extra special.
